About Popup Cinema

Cinemas are great but what really gets our juices flowing are stories from people who have screened films in far-out places. Places like cafes in the middle of wales, big museums in the middle of London or a farmshop rooftop polytunnel (we kid you not).

Film buffs, activists, bosses (the good ones), students, event organisers and people who like to entertain. It should be easy for anyone to show films.

Community-led cinema is the future. Especially as community screenings have the power to change the world and the way we look at it. Take the Oscar-nominated film Gasland, which is making a serious impact in challenging authorities over the dangers related to gas drilling. Or the film Bobby Fischer Against World which felt right at home being screened in local chess clubs.

We're adding more and more films all the time. Award-winning films, Oscar-winning directors and not forgetting undergournd gems which you can bring back to life.
